Your cookie choice

• momh-cookie-consent : kept in your browser's storage on momhindia.org (it is not a cookie) when you make a choice in the cookie banner, so that we do not ask again on every page. The website needs it to respect your choice, so it is set without asking. It lasts six months, after which we ask again.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

These are set only if you accept analytics cookies. Until you do, Google Analytics does not run on this website.

• _ga : set on momhindia.org by Google Analytics. It gives your browser a random identifier, not linked to your name or contact details, so that repeat visits can be counted. Google sets it to last two years from your latest visit. When we tested it in Chrome it was set to expire after about 13 months, and some browsers clear it sooner.
• _ga_GK6YKXRPJ8 : set on momhindia.org by Google Analytics. It keeps track of your current browsing session for the same statistics. Same lifetime as _ga.

Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA)

• _GRECAPTCHA : set by Google on the google.com domain, not on momhindia.org, when reCAPTCHA runs on the Book Your Appointment page. It helps Google tell people from automated programs. It protects the booking form, so it runs without asking. Google does not publish a fixed lifetime for it. reCAPTCHA may also keep a small record in your browser's storage on the google.com domain.

Museum staff only

These are set on momhindia.org only when a member of the Museum team uses the content management system. None of them is ever set for visitors.

• payload-token : keeps a team member signed in. It expires two hours after it is set, and is renewed while they are working.
• payload-theme : remembers the light or dark display a team member chose. It lasts one year.
• payload-lng : remembers the language a team member chose for the management screens, if they change it. It ends when the browser is closed.
• __prerender_bypass : set when a signed-in team member opens a page preview from the content management system. It ends when the browser is closed.

Google Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and how they reach us. When a page loads, Google Analytics receives the page address and title, the referring page, your browser and operating system, device type, screen size and language, together with the identifier in the _ga cookie. As you use the page, it also receives simple events, such as how far you scroll. It also receives your IP address, which Google uses to work out an approximate location (and, for visitors outside the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, to detect spam) and then discards. A daily copy of this data, including the _ga identifier, is exported to Google BigQuery, Google's data warehouse, where it is stored in Mumbai for our own reporting. Our Google Analytics account also shares this data with Google so that Google can improve its own products and services; for that data Google is an independent controller, and Google states in our settings that it will not use it for ad personalisation or ad targeting. This website sets no advertising cookies and is not linked to any advertising product, Google signals is switched off, and the website tells Google Analytics not to use your visit for ad personalisation. Google reCAPTCHA. The Book Your Appointment page uses reCAPTCHA to protect the booking form from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA starts as soon as that page opens, and it runs on no other page. It collects device and browser information, your IP address and how you interact with the page. Google states that it processes this information on our behalf, only to provide this protection, and does not use it for other purposes such as personalised advertising. Cookieless statistics. We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, services of Vercel Inc., which hosts this website. They record page views and page-loading speed. They set no cookies on this website, and Vercel states that the data is not tied to any individual visitor or IP address.

Fonts. Playfair Display and some styles of Cormorant are delivered by Google Fonts; all other fonts on this website are served from our own website. Google states that Google Fonts sets no cookies, and that the IP address it receives with each font request is not used to build profiles or for advertising.

The cookie banner. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics runs only if you accept. If you reject them, or close the banner, it does not run.

Changing your mind. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings at the foot of every page of this website. If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics stops and we delete its cookies from your browser.

Browser settings. Every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, for all websites or for ours alone. Blocking the Google Analytics cookies does not affect any part of this website. If you block cookies from google.com, the security check on the booking form may not work. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how.

Google Analytics opt-out. Google offers a browser add-on that stops the Google Analytics code on every website you visit from sending information to Google Analytics.

reCAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA starts when you open the Book Your Appointment page. If you prefer not to use it, you can book by email or telephone instead.
